Research Projects sanctioned by BCUD:

The teaching staff is actively engaged in carrying out Research Projects. The following Research Projects have been sanctioned by Board of College & University Development, University of Pune. Duration of the projects is two years.

Other departmental projects being carried out are on:
- Isolation of Halophiles from the Dead Sea sample and their potential commercial application
- Isolation and characterization of bacterial pathogen causing blight of pomegranate and its bacteriophage
- Enzymes of industrial importance e.g. Cellulases, pectinases.
Research Consultancy: Dr. (Mrs.) Kavita Parekh: Worked as a consultant to set up molecular diagnostic facility for M.tuberculosis for a leading hospital and research centre in Pune. Currently involved in standardizing a molecular diagnostic for HIV for the same hospital as a part of research activity.
