ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY THE DEPARTMENT - MICROBIOLOGY SCIENCE

  • The department conducted “Genetic Engineering” Workshop for College Teachers at Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Ganeshkhind, Pune-53 under Quality Improvement Programme of University of Pune, on 12 – 13 March 2005.
  • The department conducted the Symposium: “Recent Trends in Life Sciences” for College Teachers at  Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Ganeshkhind, Pune-53 under Quality Improvement Programme of University of Pune (Jan 2007).
  • Guest lectures of renowned Scientists and academicians from institutes such as National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) and Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) and Departments of University of Pune and personnel from industry (from Serum Institute) are arranged throughout the year.
  • Students are encouraged to participate in annual Science Exhibition  and Poster Competition conducted by the college.
  • Department conducts Rangoli competition and Salad decoration competition for students based on Microbiology as a theme, during Science Exhibition.
  • Educational Visits: are conducted to various Research Institutes, Blood Bank, Effluent Treatment Plant and Water Treatment Plant as mentioned in the syllabus.
