One or two line about placement cell : | We guide our students in the development of their soft skills. This year our first M. Sc. batch was out. Our department had arranged campus interviews of Pharmaceutical companies like Innova Synth., Deepak Nitrite and Serum Institute. There was 100 % placement of the students. Two students have joined for Ph. D. |
Department of Chemistry is the oldest science department in our college established in 1993. Taking into the consideration the growing interest of the subject, we have started M.Sc. Organic Chemistry course since the academic year 2006-07. The objective of the department is not only to enrich students academically, but also in their all round development.
1) Dr Madhuri S. Kulkarni (Head of the department)
2) Dr.Dipratn G.Khandare
Guest lectures by eminent Professors and Scientists
The Department of Chemistry sends M. Sc. students for the summer project at many esteemed research institutes such as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, National Chemical Laboratory, HEMRL and also to some industries like Deepak Nitrite, Glaxo, RCF etc.
Every year poster and project competition for students is arranged.
Science exhibition is arranged every year for B.Sc. and M. Sc. Students.
Industrial visits in order to develop a practical approach in students.
Visits to National Chemical Laboratory and University of Pune
Seminars are arranged for M. Sc. students in order to develop their presentation skill.
Students also handle variety of Chemistry related softwares such as Chemwind, ISIS draw, Chemdraw and Origin.
Students Alumni Association is celebrated every year on December 31. It is a very prestigious function of our department where all present and past students meet and share their feelings.
Chemiad coaching for F. Y. B. Sc. General and Biotechnology students. Every year our students get rank in Chemiad- a university level competition.
Remedial coaching is given to students as per the need.
Our students appeared for the campus interviews in various companies. The students are placed mainly in the following companies
In addition to this, two students have joined for Ph. D.
